A year ago, I never imagined starting Yorkseed. It all began during a dull three-hour train ride with nothing but a spreadsheet out of boredom. This summer, during New York Tech Week on June 4th, we hosted our first Venture Summit with StartupFuel in New York City. Next stop: Toronto on June 20th.

We featured an incredible lineup of speakers who covered a comprehensive range of topics for all stages of venture fundraising! From early-stage and pre-seed to seed, growth stage, Series B, and private equity, we had it all covered. ❤️

Heartfelt Thanks for Making Our Venture Summit a Success!

A million thanks to Polsinelli for letting us use their space. We had the honor of being the first event hosted in their newly renovated 33rd-floor space.

Our deepest gratitude to our outstanding speakers: Gabriel Yomi Dabiri and Peter Thurlow from Polsinelli, Alisha Outridge from BlackLion, Josh Futterman from Papa Bear Ventures, Seba Dominguez from Builders, Ashlea Souffrou, CMRP from SxanPro, and Sunny Midha from Principia Growth.

We also enjoyed a fantastic headshot session sponsored by Shoott.com. Special thanks to Jennifer from Shoott, as well as our sponsors Prosh Marketing, Zeebu, and community partner Trusteer Financial, and Croissant Coworking.

Congratulations to all the startups that participated in the Pitchbox Founder Showcase: Amico App, Block Convey, Creative 3D Technologies, Intero AI, Kast, Tavern Community Coworking, and SkySurf Travel!

This event wouldn't have been possible without my event partner, StartupFuel, and the incredible help of all our volunteers: Amelia Tran, Kevin Richard, Sid Jain, Robyn, Nishi, Somya, Jason Lee, and Samiksa from Yorkseed.

I am looking forward to our next Venture Summit in Toronto during the Collision Conference on June 20th. If you'd like to get involved, please reach out to me.

Thank you to the content creators at Theorist Agency, DJ, and Asher as well!

New York Tech Week has wrapped up, and with over 700 events, Yorkseed hosted our inaugural Venture Summit with StartupFuel—first stop, New York City; next stop, Toronto! We also co-hosted another event with Orbis86. Our "Future of Tech: Game On" event on the first day of NYTW attracted over 100 attendees, and partnered with VNTR Capital for an Investors Roundtable at Polsinelli Law Firm.

Message from the Yorkseed House ...

Our WhatsApp Global hubs are where I will be strictly sharing special events that are happening around the local city related to Founders + Investors + Tech Executives focus only.

Our WhatsApp Conference Groups are for conferences goers to share invites, arrange meetups and set meetings specifically for Founders + Investors + Tech Executives focus only. We also provide a spreadsheet of non-badge holder master side event list for all conference goers! We believe everyone should have access to all the top notch side events without paying a premium price!

Looking for volunteers to run some of these hubs. Global Hub, Paris, New York City, Austin, Miami, D.C., Los Angeles, Bay Area, Hong Kong, Lisbon, Sydney, Munich, Berlin, Helsinki, London, Rio, Buenos Aires, Toronto, Montreal, Dubai, Global Hub (International). Some people already interested in some of them, though I do need more! If you are from a city that is not on the list and are interested in creating a local hub, please reach out to me!

What does a local hub volunteer / co-organizer do?

  • Run a YorkseedTM event once a month. It must be Founders + Investors + Tech Executives focus. I am open to all sort of events from happy hours to panels, or even demo nights. To make it easier, it can be a co-branded event with another company.

  • Collect mailing list, YorkseedTM database building from all the attendees. Partnership, investor or collaboration opportunities for YS.

  • Feed me any local events you know will be coming up in the local city, and I will include them the newsletter.

The perks of being a local hub volunteer? You are exposed to high-level individuals, and infinite opportunities will come your way!

Sounds exciting for you? Write me at  [email protected] / Jessica Sophia Wong
